This year, The Heart Truth® is honoring the shared stories of women who have been touched by heart disease. For more than a decade, The Heart Truth has been uniting women in the fight against their #1 killer—increasing awareness of their personal risk factors for heart disease and empowering them to take healthy steps to reduce their risk.
On February 6, 2013, the campaign unveiled its 11th annual collection of red dresses at the Hammerstein Ballroom, bringing to light the beauty and power of the Red Dress℠, the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness. The Red Dress Collection℠ Fashion Show kicked off Fashion Week, featuring top celebrities who walked the runway in fashions created by some of America’s finest designers.
One special guest on the runway was Cindy Parsons, whose claim to fame is not from the movies or the stage, but from her commitment to protecting her heart. In just 9 months, Cindy transformed her heart health with the support of Follow the Fifty, a community initiative funded by The Heart Truth Community Action Program.
The Heart Truth thanks the hundreds of partners, Champions, and individuals who have made stories like Cindy’s possible. Through this collective power, we motivate women to make a commitment to take action steps for lowering their risk for heart disease and protecting their heart health.
